Adult and Teen Classes
Learn fretting, picking techniques, an introduction to chords and begin to play a few songs too! Jonathan Seymour has played guitar most of his life and has been teaching for twenty of those. These are 1/2 hour, private lessons for students ages 12 - adult. Please call 304-485-3859 to reserve your day/time. Lessons starting the week of October 22.

Join Briton Depriest on Thursdays, October 25 - November 15 from 6:00-7:30 p.m. for this four week class for beginner and intermediate level photographers.
Get out of Auto Mode and create beautiful photos! In this class we will go over the basics of using your camera, and participants will learn the basic techniques of photography from shooting in RAW file type, creative composition, and artistic styling. Each week there will be examples and discussion on how to achieve different looks and styles of work.
Bring your camera to this class! The instructor has experience in most camera types, and is willing to help you individually learn the nuance of each camera body. Each class there will be a chance for critique of individual work on an at will basis.

Students will be instructed on the fine art of pottery on the wheel. All materials; clay, glaze, and kiln firing are included in the cost. This class is open to teens and adults and will meet on Thursdays, November 1 - 29 from 6:00-9:00 p.m. (skipping Nov. 22).

Learn the fundamentals of building clay projects by hand. Techniques include coil building, slab construction, pinch pot method, extrusion and basics of wheel throwing. Projects will include hand building mugs, bowls, vases, plates, fairy houses, and cellphone amplifiers. Glazing and firing techniques are taught along with exploring surface textures. Teens and adults can join Joyce Tharp and Jan Wittman for this four-week session on Mondays, November 5 - 26 from 6:00-9:00 p.m.

If you have ever wanted to learn the keys to painting portraiture with watercolor this is the class for you. Let Allen Armel help guide you towards producing excellent portraits and improve your skills in this challenging medium and subject. From the most basic of skills and problems will be addressed and worked on throughout the course. This class is for teens and adults (beginner to intermediate) and will meet on Tuesdays, November 6 - December 18 from 6:00-7:30 p.m. (skipping week of Thanksgiving).

Join the members of the K.O.M. Rivers Fiber Guild on Tuesday, November 20, 6:00-7:30 p.m. You don't need needles to knit. What?! It's true! Members of the Knitters Guild will guide you through this relatively simple process that uses your arms and hands instead of needles. Please register in advance so we will have ample materials ready. Teens and adults welcomed, children 10 and under may attend with an adult. Free but donations gratefully accepted. Must pre-register by Saturday, November 17.
Join Jessie Siefert on Thursday, December 13 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. as she guides you in painting a pair of frosty friends. Instruction and all materials are provided by the Art Center. Snacks will be provided by CCMC Lifetime Partners Program.
