Adult and Teen Classes
Join stained glass artist Tom Pralley on Saturday mornings April 22 and 29th from 10:00 - 12:30pm. OR Saturday afternoons from 2:00 - 4:30 pm. Please make a note of your time choice when registering for this class. Students will build a stained glass panel using the lead came method. The first class teaches cutting, safety and construction techniques to begin your work. All materials ( glass, lead, solder, flux, grinder, cutters, gloves) are included. Join Ginny Killian and friends on June 12 - 15 (four evenings) from 6 - 8 p.m. in the Esbenshade studio. Let your inner child come out to play......with art! Why should the kids have all of the fun?! This is an Art Camp for grown-ups. Each day will introduce an exciting new activity that will spark your imagination. You will work on each project for the two hour evening session. The next day will be something brand new! (Our Esbenshade Studio will be available to you throughout the week at no additional charge if you would like to finish or expand on any of the projects.) Projects will include fused paper/mixed media collage, reduction printing, jewelry making and our guest artist's twist on traditional painting techniques. Thursday's class will also include a little treat to celebrate this week of creative camaraderie. This class if for folks 18 and older.
Join Virginia Killian on Tuesdays, April 25 - May 30,from 6:00 - 7:30 as she guides you in the basics of drawing. You will learn the techniques of fine pencil drawing, sketching, colored pencil and the use of lines and shading to give your shapes and images form. She will take you out side and draw in "plein air". Supplies will be provided for the first class then a supply list will be distributed.
Beginning Thursdays, Thursday, April 6 - 27 from 6:00pm - 9:00pm, "Mr. Potter" will instruct you on the fine art of pottery on the wheel. All materials of clay, glazes and kiln firing are included in the cost. Please call for registration. Next session is May 4 - 25.
Most classes require a minimum of 4 students in order to run and/or have maximum number limits so… PLEASE REGISTER IN ADVANCE TO ENSURE THAT YOU CAN GET INTO THE CLASS YOU WANT. Parkersburg Art Center reserves the right to withhold a partial administrative fee for all class refunds.
