The Parkersburg Art Center

Founded in 1938 by members of the Parkersburg West Virginia Woman’s Club, the Art Center is the oldest arts organization in West Virginia in continuous operation! Now in its fifth home, the Art Center is located on a busy corner right downtown Parkersburg.

The facility houses six separate gallery areas (including one just for kids) that can be used individually or in tandem, and those galleries hold an average of 16 exhibits each year. Shows range from the works of internationally known artists, to art by area schoolchildren. There is ALWAYS something interesting to see.

We also have a gift shop- ZOCOLO (Latin-American slang for "center of town") that specializes in unique items by artisans from all over. If you want something that's one-of-kind, the Zocolo is your shop.

Get Your FRAME On! And it’s the BEST frame, too.  Frame-Zilla is the custom framing shop at the Parkersburg Art Center. How did it get that name? Because we do monstrously creative framing, that’s why! Frame-Zilla has the best prices and the fastest turnaround time, too!

The Art Center is open Wednesday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and admission is just $2. Wednesdays are “get in for free” days, and there is never a charge for kids under 12. Please call ahead for special open hours.
