We are excited to have you join us for CHALK THE BLOCK on Saturday, October 10th! This is the most colorful part of our ArtOberfest celebration and is open to both TEEN and ADULT artists! There will be an area for younger artists to join in the fun, but only teens and adults that are registered are eligible for prizes.
To participate in CHALK THE BLOCK, you need to reserve your space (only $5). Complete the online registration form and pay online or stop in and pay with cash during our business hours.
The first 20 artists to register will get their name on a 24 color set of chalk pastels to use when they check in on October 10, but the more the merrier!
Your “canvas” will be roughly 4’X4’ on the sidewalk along Market St. between 8th and 9th streets. We provide the chalk, you provide your other supplies (stool, water, rags, brushes, tape measures, etc).
You can start your work as early as 1 p.m. on October 10, but all work should be finished by 5 p.m. that evening.
ArtOberfest attendees will be encouraged to walk the Chalk the Block and vote for the chalk art pieces that speak to them.
People’s Choice Awards will be offered in adult and teen categories. There will be first and second place in each with prize packages, gift cards and cash awards up to $100!
Prize packages will be awarded on October 15.
If the weather doesn’t cooperate, we will move Chalk the Block to another date.
